Our History

Established as an electrical contractor and since developed a comprehensive mechanical division over the past 35 years.

Mecsol (formerly West Supply Electrical) was founded in 1986 by our Managing Director, Bryan Cantle. Drawing on years of experience in the electrical installation and maintenance field, operating in various industry sectors. What started as office and commercial spaces, moved onto more industrial solutions, leading to process control systems for machine shops and aircraft hangers. Experience in these areas provided him the confidence to form the company and deliver the services directly to clients.

A big break several years later started Bryan’s work in the oil industry, initially for BP where he travelled the islands of Scotland carrying out installations for Tank Overspill Protection Systems, projects which launched Mecsol into working within the hazardous area industry. Mecsol has continued to grow as a leader in this sector, and over the past 30 years delivered projects to Shell, Valero Energy, Puma Energy, the MOD, Airbus, Kilda Water and Ancala to name a few.

As projects grew, so did the Mecsol remit, with many installations including the mechanical elements of projects. Our strong project management skillset led to us managing other services as part of larger projects; HVAC and plumbing to name a couple. This work developed into installations of fire pump system and sewage pumping stations. With a growing volume of work in this area, the business has grown a dedicated mechanical division to competently service this sector alongside its existing skillset.

As the business has grown, our unwavering commitment to quality and action hasn’t. Through everything we have done, mechanical or electrical, we seek to find the best solutions, remain transparent with clients, support the changes and importantly - make things happen.
